    Picturebox co-produced the award-winning feature documentaru Better This World with Loteria Films. The film had its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival in March of 2011, and has since gone on to win numerous accolades, including Best Documentary at the 2011 IFP Gotham Awards and Best Documentary at the 2012 WGA Awards.

    The Picturebox studio features 1,400 (39'x36') square feet of shooting space with 140 dedicated amps of power. We have a permanent cyc wall — 20 feet wide and 11 feet tall — that can be painted black, white, chroma key green or, with enough notice, any color you require. There is a separate green room for makeup and wardrobe, and we offer light and grip packages to handle all your studio shooting needs.

A Journalist Continues His Work

Last summer I took our brand new camera (the Sony FS100) to Ocean Grove, New Jersey and shot some footage of my father talking about the volunteer reporting he does for a local blog. I had outfitted the camera with a bunch of Zacuto components — a first for me — and I needed an excuse to get comfortable with the new rig before starting on a new feature documentary project (Sam Douglas’s new ‘Land Art’ doc). We spent a few leisurely days just walking around town, shooting video and talking about his career in journalism and the pro bono writing and reporting he does now. I really enjoyed hearing about all that, and I find as I watch this footage that I’m very proud of my father and what he stands for.
