From Slacker to American Master

March 19th, 2016 by Mike

After premiering at Sundance, and playing to packed houses during SXSW, Richard Linklater – dream is destiny is now headed to American Masters on PBS. Picturebox co-produced the film alongside Arts + Labor and Black/Bernstein Productions.

We’re honored to have had the opportunity to collaborate with directors Louis Black and Karen Bernstein and the rest of the fantastic filmmaking team.

“One of the most enriching and enjoyable docs about a filmmaker in recent memory…” – The Hollywood Reporter

The chance to work with Sara Hickman was too good to pass up! We loved spending time with her and the kids at Child Inc’s Head Start program to create this fun music video encouraging parents to sign their kids up for Pre-K classes in Austin. Spanish version coming soon!

Some of our best work can be seen now on HBO in the documentary film Very Semi-Serious: A Partially Thorough Portrait of New Yorker Cartoonists. Picturebox created all of the titles and animations for Leah Wolchock’s wonderful film, highlighting hundreds of cartoons from the beginnings for the New Yorker through today.

Here’s the trailer:

A New Beginning for Parkland Hospital

November 24th, 2015 by Kevin

We’re proud of this short video we created for the new Rees-Jones Trauma Center at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. It’s an amazing facility filled with terrific doctors, nurses, and administrators. We got to watch them in action, and it was nothing short of awe-inspiring.

Take a look at Eric and “Anna,” a new piece at Field of Vision created by Mike, Kelly Duane DelaVega, and Katie Galloway!

A story of youth, dissent, love and betrayal in post 9/11 America woven exclusively with FBI surveillance, Eric & “Anna” tells the story of a teenage informant and the activist she helped to put in prison for nearly 20 years.
